How to delete fake Orkut profile

Have you ever been impersonated or Is anyone using your name or picture on a fake Orkut profile to defame you?

Impersonation:

Trying to steal other users identity in any form, e.g. using his/her pictures, name and address etc is called as impersonation. If someone has created a fake profile of yours and is trying to pretend like you, it is always very much frustrating to see that profile on Orkut.

What you can do in that case is to fill impersonation form to get that fake profile deleted by Orkut. Please note that the victim should himself fill the form and no one else, on his/her behalf, should do that.
1. Fill this form if the person being impersonated is an Orkut user.

2. Fill this form if the person being impersonated is NOT an Orkut user.

You will be contacted by Orkut (generally within three business days, but it may, sometimes, take more time) for more information, if required. They even may ask you to attach a valid scanned copy of the National ID card ( Attaching National ID card is a MUST for non-Orkut users ). The valid National ID card includes Voter ID card, Sudent ID card, Driver License or any other National ID card which has a clear picture of yours printed on it. So be sure that you are providing a National ID card, if asked, as this is the most important document that will help them verify that the profile in question is a fake of yours.

I will recommend you to go through this Help Article before filling that form. Once you fill the impersonation form, Orkut Team reviews the complain and takes down the profile in question if your complain seems to be genuine. It depends on the accuracy of your information weather any action will be taken or not.
What next after filling the impersonation form :

After filling impersonation form, you should try against that fake profile and ask your friends to do the same.

Visit the fake profile > Report > Identity / Personal Information > Pretends to be my friend > Enter your friends name who is being impersonated > Report.
